New Apple iPhone 2G
- Average user rating:
For starters, the iphone in my opinion is a magnificent piece of work. I have owned the 2G iphone since November 2008, and I don't think I want any other phone. I've seen many other touchscreen phones that say they are like the iphone, but none of them come close to having the same interactive interface that the iphone possesses. The only problem I had with the iphone was the absence of the landscape keyboard in the text app. However, now that Iphone OS 3.0 is due this summer, I no longer have any problems. When it comes to customization of the iphone, stickers and decals are about all i would recommend. I recently attempted to change the back plate of my iphone and with much grueling work, I finally succeeded. It did come with a high price though. It is definitely not worth the time or money unless you have someone do it professionally (if it can be done).
As for the features on the iphone, there are really no flaws. The ipod function is amazing, and the itunes app is practically like having a mobile computer itunes app with you at all times. You can download songs from itunes from anywhere with the AT&T service and/or wifi. I don't have much experience with the email app, but from what I've seen, it's very simple and easy to set up and use. "Maps" is very elaborate and is wonderful to have on the go. The directions are very easy to understand and the distances and location detection are very accurate. The App Store is one of those ingenious things that just make me happy. You can get almost anything off the App Store. The youtube application is awesome. Mobile video has always been one of those things I have wanted in a phone, and the fact that youtube is free only makes it better. The safari browser is just like a computer's internet browser which is all that needs to be said! You can download games, internet radio, news, weather, books, etc. The other apps on the iphone are ones you can find on mostly any phone: a clock, a calculator, a calendar, and some kind of notepad, but these apps on the iphone have a unique touch interface that make them entertaining too.
